FIRST Chairman's Award Video 2009
The Chairman's Award is considered to be FIRST's most prestigious. It was created "to keep the central focus of the FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming culture to inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as to encourage more of today’s youth to become scientists, engineers, and technologists".
The Techno Ticks are proud to say that we have adopted FIRST's vision and mission as our own. We work hard year-round to further the goals of the FIRST program, striving to serve as a model team and as an agent of constructive change.

Due to some of what's been accomplished over the more than 11 years the team has existed, we have won more regional Chairman's Awards than any other team - 7 in all (one at the BAE NH Regional and six in a row at the CT Regional). See our 2009 Events and Press page and our 2008 Season Archive page just to get a taste of what we've focused on in recent years. In order to compete for the Chairman's Award, teams submit essays ahead of time, and make a presentation to a panel of judges at a regional competition. This year, teams also had to submit a 3-minute video. Winners of regional Chairman's Awards go on to compete for the Championship Chairman's Award in Atlanta.
